Full-Time Data Scientist, Geospatial Analytics ($150K + Bonus)

Our client is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team in Sydney. This role would utilise statistical modelling experience – and requires someone with strong business acumen to add to a collaborative team environment, and deliver powerful analytics-based insights, methods, and visualisations to help our clients transform their businesses and gain competitive advantage.
THE ROLE
As a key player in the Customer Analytics group, the Data Scientist role will be familiar with survey data and also bring knowledge of geospatial analytics when delivering insights for various clients.
You will be involved in leading Analytics product development & engagement work and act as as a full team-member on consulting engagements (although with an emphasis on the analytical aspect).
This includes meeting with clients, preparing client-ready outputs, influencing, explaining and devising and delivering training and working on site with client teams.
In order to be successful in this role, you will be an autonomous self-starter, with a passion for analytics and problem solving – and have the ability to multi-task & operate effectively in a matrix organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion & enthusiasm for Data & Analytics
- Degree in a Technological or Quantitative discipline (i.e. Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science etc.) – Advanced degree preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience providing advanced analytics solutions in the geo-analytics sector
- Familiarity with analytics tools
- Ability to think quickly & intuitively
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Geospatial analytics experience (MANDATORY)
Experience across multiple industries (financial, FMCG, retail, etc.) and hands-on modelling work with customer-centric data will also be highly valued.
The position is located in Sydney as part of our global expert team. Travel within Australia and the Asia Pacific region is likely.
Salary can range up to $150K + an attractive Bonus and benefits.
