HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYORS
Port of Newcastle is currently seeking experienced and highly motivated Hydrographic Surveyor professionals to join our team.
Newcastle is the largest bulk shipping port on the east coast of Australia and the world’s leading coal export port. The port is managed by Port of Newcastle under a long term lease. The lease includes responsibility for dredging and survey.
SENIOR HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYOR
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the survey team to undertake hydrographic, land and engineering surveys to produce associated survey plans which provide information for safe shipping movements, enhance engineering operation and support commercial development of the port.
HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYOR
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the completion of the Hydrographic Survey Program. Other duties will include land, engineering and detail surveys, dredging databases, preparation of CAD plans, tide gauge monitoring, data management and environmental monitoring.
For these roles the successful applicants will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualifications in surveying or related discipline.
- Thorough understanding of the principles of multi beam echo sounders and swath bathymetry.
- Thorough understanding of relevant survey computer hardware, software applications, computer databases and data transfer techniques.
