The Role
We are looking for highly motivated and experienced candidates to fill vacancies in the Collection Directorate within the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO).
APS 6 Geospatial Intelligence Team Leaders are accountable under limited direction to:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on geospatial-intelligence collection and processing;
- Seek out new geospatial-intelligence sources, and as part of a cross-agency effort contribute to their integration into AGO’s business;
- Actively manage key stakeholder relationships; and
- Support the development and delivery of training in their area of expertise.
They may have responsibility for managing and developing a small team through coaching and feedback.

The Collection Directorate is responsible for the collection, collation and dissemination of satellite imagery in support of Defence and Australian Government requirements. The Directorate plans and drives collection operations, provides sensor advice to internal and external stakeholders, develops organisational policy regarding use of imagery, and engages broadly with government and industry to support the efficient and effective operation of AGO’s collection capability. It creatively solves collection challenges with innovative approaches and cutting-edge sensor solutions.
