The Role
We are seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Officer for a full time ongoing position. The role reports to the Resources Manager based in Melbourne, and is part of a larger state wide team comprising GIS professionals and forest scientists.
The role will include both regional and corporate responsibilities. The objectives of the role are to maintain spatial data that describe the plantation estate; to provide GIS-related support, training and assistance to GIS users; and to provide GIS-related services to all parts of the business.
HVP have recently made significant upgrades to our spatial systems and services, providing the successful applicant the opportunity to work within a modern, efficient environment and contribute to projects that leverage this new technology.
The ability to secure firefighting skills is preferred but not mandatory.

You enjoy working in a team environment and are motivated to improve GIS user experience. You enjoy the challenge of problem solving and developing solutions and welcome change and business process improvement. You take pride in your work and display excellent attention to detail, and you are able to balance and prioritise workloads. You have formal GIS qualifications and/or experience in a GIS role.
