Council is seeking an experienced and qualified GIS technician to join their multi-disciplinary Design Services team. The successful candidate will require tertiary qualifications in Geographical Information Systems, Surveying, Science or Computing, and have at least 3 years demonstrated experience in a GIS and mapping environment. Demonstrated skills in the operation of GIS software, and in the creation, integration and analysis of spatial data will be critical to success in this role. Excellent communication skills and customer service experience will be vital when it comes to providing technical support and conveying technical matters to both internal and external customers. You will need the ability to work autonomously, yet also as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve successful outcomes. Demonstrated skills and experience in the use of MapInfo, AutoCAD, Intramaps, MapServer and FME will be highly regarded, along with skills in spatial database management.
