Karen Diane

I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Spatial Analysis/GIS) at James Cook University in 2006. During that time I had eight weeks GIS experience at Atherton Tablelands GIS. Employment since completing my degree has been at Parks and Wildlife (NT) in Alice Springs, Timbercorp Forestry in Albany Western Australia and a contract position through K2 Recruitment at the Redland City Council in Brisbane.

In all the above positions and at university I used ArcMap. I am confident in the use of the product and throughout my career so far as continued to increase my GIS skills.

During the time since my last paid position I have been busy both with taking care of family and voluntary work both at one of the local St. Vincent de Paul shops and Cairns and Far North Environment Centre. These two positions may not be directly linked with the work I am interested in but they have helped to continue to develop generic skills which would be necessary in most lines of work such as organisation and general computer skills.
